Sedat Simavi Library
The main library functioned as an regular school library until 1984 when the Galatasaray Education Foundation listed it as a project scheduled for redevelopment.
The Facilities in the New Library:
The new library, which uses Dewey Decimal Classification; an international library classification system, operates as an open-shelf concept. This system helps to ensure the continuation of the library services, marking a significant achievement for the school. Students are able to use the library almost every hour of the day and houses the most recent books. The new library also has a reading room that can accommodate up to 100 people.
Additionally, the Haldun Taner Library has been organized in such a way to assist researchers with easily accessing what they need. For example, the library holds important resources for researchers who are working on Western music and French literature.
The books in the library:
Beyoğlu Central Library, which functions today under the name of Sedat Simavi Library, was home to 77,587 books as of November 2013. The library has continued to enrich its resources mainly thanks to donations and purchases of newly published books in recent years.
